What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels do a comparable job. This policy uses “cookies” to cover all of them.

Cookies are either first party (set by ellum.ai) or third party (set by a partner whose code runs on our pages). They are session cookies, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent, kept until they expire or you delete them.

How we ask for consent

On your first visit a banner offers Accept all, Reject all and Manage preferences. The two decisions carry equal weight and take one click each. Nothing optional is set before you choose, and continuing to browse is not treated as consent.

Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again. We also ask again if this policy changes in a way that affects your choices (the policy carries a version number, currently v1). Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: open Cookie preferences from the footer of any page or use the button below.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out from the sale or sharing of personal information. Marketing cookies stay off and the banner confirms that the opt-out was honored. We do not act on the older Do Not Track header, which has no agreed meaning.

Categories we use

Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work: remembering your cookie choices and your theme. These cannot be switched off. Set without consent because the site cannot work without them.
Functional. Remember preferences and enable enhanced features such as embedded content and live chat.
Analytics. Help us understand which pages are used and how, so we can improve the site. Data is aggregated.
Marketing. Used by advertising partners to measure campaigns and show relevant ads across sites.

Browser controls

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working, including remembering your consent choice. Deleting the ellum_consent cookie will make the banner appear again.

Partner opt-outs: Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Changes and contact

We update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision. Material changes trigger a fresh consent request.
